LARC W8F Edmund Fitzgerald Special is over. Thanks to all who took part. Please send Logs ASAP to N8MR

W8F Special Event callsign and operating activity…

…IS NOW OVER. W8F OPERATORS PLEASE SEND COPIES OF YOUR LOGS TO MIKE, N8MR SO WE CAN PROCESS REQUESTS FOR THE 2022 CERTIFICATE.

Every November, LARC, along with the Detroit Historical Society and the Dossin Great Lakes Museum, commemorates the sinking of the SS Edmund Fitzgerald on November 10, 1975.

Between October 30 and Nov 13, LARC members can take part in this event. Sign as W8F and submit a copy of your W8F log so you and our QSO partners can receive our confirmation certificate.

On Saturday November 5, from 11AM to 3PM, our club, with the help of our members, will put W8F on the air from the Dossin Great Lakes Museum. We’ll need help with antenna raising, and with operation on SSB and CW.
Since Belle Isle is a Michigan state park, we will also activate W8F as a POTA (Parks on the Air) station.

Watch for updates here on the LARC website. For the detailed description of the event, view W8F at the QRZ.com callsign lookup.
