Livonia ARC monthly “LARC In The Park” will be taking a little field trip this time, to another park, namely Maybury State Park in Northville Township, for a LIVE POTA activation.
For those new to the hobby or not familiar with this, POTA is “Parks on the Air®,” which has become a very popular operating activity.
POTA experts (and fellow LARC members) Tom Mitchell KE8YVH, and Sean Pruitt AE8SP, will be on hand to show us how it’s done! Tom and Sean will show off their POTA rigs, and talk about rules of POTA, logging and procedures. If you’ve been interested in POTA but don’t know how to get started doing your own activations, or if you’re just curious to see what a POTA activator is doing while being “hunted”, come to LARC In The Park on Saturday, July 12 at 10:00 AM.
