The back story:
Way Back in July of 2020, Sandy, AK8KA, challenged club members to set a record for total number of call-ins to our Thursday night net. That evening 39 members and guests reached our K8UNS repeater to check in, and that number stands to this day.

Sandy and Net Manager Hiro AD8AE believe it’s time for another event – this time with prizes! On Thursday, August 18, 2022, Sandy will be Net Control, and challenges our club members (and anyone else) to call-in to our weekly net. All valid operators will be placed in a drawing for a $25 Gift Certificate to DX Engineering. If we break the previous record of 39 call-ins, there will be an additional drawing for a $50 gift card to a local dining establishment.

As always with our Net, you do not have to be member to call-in, any licensed radio operator is welcome. So make sure to mark your calendars now, test the radio and antennas and be prepared to call-in to K8UNS on August 18.

We’d like you to check into our net every week, but, make a point of checking into this “very special” LARC Net on Thursday, August 18.
