My name is James (K8JKU) and I help organize the Michigan POTA Meetup. We’re hosting our 3rd annual event on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Hartwick Pines State Park (US-1503) in Grayling, and I’d love your help spreading the word to your members.

The meetup runs from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Day Use Shelter near the Chapel in the Woods. It’s free and open to anyone, whether they’re a seasoned POTA activator, a casual hunter, or someone who’s just curious about portable operations. We’ll have:

– Free hamburgers and hot dogs (first come first served, dish-to-pass welcome)
– Groups setup/Demonstrations
– HT Park-to-Parks activity
– A group photo at 1:00 PM at the banner

This has grown into a real highlight of the Michigan ham radio calendar, and the best part is watching folks meet activators they’ve been working from across the state in person for the first time.
