Special Field Day Net
As part of LARC’s ARRL Field Day activities, John Hopkins, K8YYZ, will conduct a Net Control Station (NCS) training session on Saturday, June 28 at 5:00 PM under the picnic shelter at Bien Park. If you’ve ever been interested in acting as NCS for one of our weekly nets but don’t know what to do, or if you’re just curious about how NCS runs the net, come out to Bien Park for this unique educational event. John will talk about the duties of the NCS, demo how to use Netlogger to track net participants, and run a LIVE net showing what it looks and sounds like behind the scenes of Net Control.
For those unable to come out to the Bien Park (Eckles Road S. of Five Mile in Livonia), please join the net at 5:30 PM on the LARC repeater, K8UNS 145.350 MHz. Our discussion topic will be “How is your Field Day going?” A on-air and in-person event, no Zoom!
Conducting an educational event also will earn us bonus points in our cumulative FD score!
Operating and logging time slots still open! Visit the LARC website to join in.
