Right after club breakfast at Senate, join us at Bien Park, on Eckles Road, south of 5 Mile, around 9:30AM, for this month’s LARC in the Park. Mike Rudzki, N8MR, will demonstrate the basics and the how-to of amateur radio satellite communications.
If you’ve gotten bored with repeaters, FT8 or dodgy HF propagation, satellites are another aspect of ham radio to explore and enjoy.
With a large number of ham sats now in orbit, there are frequent sat QSO opportunities every day. Often, a simple hand-held V/U dual band yagi and one or two HTs can snag you a satellite or ISS repeater QSO.
This will be our last “al fresco” LitP for this year. We’ll be moving indoors to the Livonia PD EOC for December and beyond.
November’s LARC in the Park will be our annual W8F Fitzgerald Special Event operation at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on November 8.
