LARC in the Park (at the EOC) – Sat. Feb 8 – 3D Printing

LARC In The Park continues in its winter home at the Livonia Police Department’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

3D printers have come down in price significantly since the first consumer models came to market in 2009. Today, 3D printers are as inexpensive and widely available as inkjet and laser printers for home.

Come to LARC In The Park on Saturday, February 8, to learn how to break into the 3D printing world.
John Hopkins, K8YYZ, will lead a discussion of how 3D printing works, survey the landscape of different 3D printing technologies, explore publicly available sources for 3D object plans, and provide a live demo of a 3D printer in action.
If you have experience with 3D printers, feel free to bring 3D objects you’ve printed, especially if they relate to amateur radio.

>> You MUST be a current LARC member to participate in LARC In The Park at the EOC, and, you MUST RSVP for the upcoming session by contacting our EOC Liaison Bill Allen AD8WA <wallen_diver@yahoo.com> before 9:00 PM on Thursday Feb. 6. (Livonia PD requires participants to be pre-registered for inclusion on the guest list).

LARC In The Park follows the club’s weekly Saturday morning breakfast at the Senate Coney Island on Plymouth Road west of Farmington Road. Meet in the lobby of the Livonia Police Headquarters building at 15050 Farmington Road, just south of 5 Mile Road at 9:30 AM for check-in. We’ll then proceed downstairs to the EOC as a group.

This information will also be repeated on the Thursday evening Net.
